Directions
Ascent: Eishof – Eisjöchl – Stettiner Hut
The stage begins at Eishof (2,076 m), following the well-built military trail as it climbs steadily in a series of switchbacks. The first section crosses alpine meadows before leading into a more rugged landscape of rocky scree and high-mountain terrain.
After around 3 hours, you reach Eisjöchl (2,895 m), the highest point of the Merano High Mountain Trail. From here, you can enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding peaks of the Texel Group Nature Park. Just a few minutes from the pass stands the Stettiner Hut (2,875 m), nestled between Hohe Wilde peak (3,480 m) and Hohe Weiße peak (3,281 m).
Descent: Stettiner Hut – Lazins Alm Alp – Pfelders
From Stettiner Hütte Hut, descend along the broad military trail through rocky terrain with numerous switchbacks. After a gentle start, the path becomes somewhat steeper before reaching the valley floor at Lazins Alm Alp (1,860 m).
From there, continue on the level forest road alongside the Pfelderer Stream. Shortly before reaching Lazinser Hof (1,782 m), cross the stream and continue through the small hamlet of Zeppichl. After approximately 3 hours of descent, you arrive at the stage destination of Pfelders (1,624 m).
