Markets in Val Passiria Valley

Since the dawn of civilisation, the markets in the villages of Passeiertal Valley have been social gatherings.

In South Tyrol – and in the Passeiertal Valley – markets have a long tradition. All year round, markets are held in the villages of the valley, inviting guests to sample, enjoy and purchase local foods. Every first Saturday in the month, farmers from the valley come to the farmer’s market in St.Martin/S.Martino to sell their fresh produce. Another fixture in the local market diary is the Village market in Riffian/Rifiano from May through to October. The cattle and grocery markets in St. Leonhard/S. Leonardo and St. Martin are also traditional meeting places, as is also the long-established farmer’s market in Saltuaus/Saltusio which is held on certain days each year.
