In
the Passeiertal Valley, four
Waalwege (historic irrigation channel trails) invite visitors to enjoy relaxing hikes: the Kuenser, Riffianer, Maiser and Matatzer/Ulfaser Waalweg. Originally built to irrigate the surrounding fields, these historic waterways are now among the region's most scenic walking and hiking trails.
These mostly gentle paths wind through forests and meadows, offering beautiful views of the
Passeiertal Valley along the way. Depending on their elevation, they are accessible from spring to autumn, with some sections remaining walkable almost all year round. They are ideal for
families, leisure walkers, and anyone who wants to experience nature at a relaxed pace. Walking times range from approximately 1½ to 3 hours.
