Holidaymakers should not miss visiting one of the many museums in the Val Passiria Valley. Those who would like to find out more about the turbulent history of the valley and the national hero Andreas Hofer should visit MuseumPasseier in San Leonardo. The Bunker Mooseum in Moso, housed in the shell of a bunker from the 1940’s, is for all who are interested in history, nature and archaeology. Another worthwhile destination is the Schneeberg Mining Museum, which offers glimpses into the era when mining dominated South Tyrol. The Pass Museum on Timmelsjoch road, on the other hand, is dedicated to the pioneers of the alpine road. To underscore the cross-border “Timmelsjoch Experience”, this museum is located half in South Tyrol and half in North Tyrol.
