Skiing in Val Passiria Valley

Skiing fun with snow guaranteed from the beginning of December through to Easter

For pure skiing fun, the Val Passiria Valley offers no fewer than two ski resorts – both with a wide range of slopes, and both with excellent ratings. Plan and Racines-Giovo are popular with beginners and professionals alike, offering guaranteed snow, perfectly groomed slopes and fantastic scenery. Plan is a “soft mobility” mountain village and ski resort in one. Offering 18km of slopes and numerous cosy mountain huts, it appeals mainly to families and those who ski for pleasure. In the Racines-Giovo ski resort just over the Passo Giovo, skiers will find sun-kissed mountainsides, 25km ski slopes and a great fun park for snowboarders. Top athletes such as Ted Ligety and Felix Neureuther regularly train in the Plan ski resort. Here, at 1600m to 2500m above sea level, snow is guaranteed until late in spring.

Lazinsertal Valley Cross-Country Skiing Trail
11.1 km
prepared

The cross-country skiing trail in the Lazinsertal valley is a thoroughly romantic and unique natural spectacle. The 12-km-long trail extends through snow-covered mountain landscapes and silver-green spruce trees, offering three different variations: an easy circuit of 7 km, as well as two circuits of medium difficulty of 5.5 km and 12 km respectively. The route for children and beginners is especially recommended, as the difference in altitude is very minor. On a daily basis, the trail is groomed for classic style and skating with a comfortable width. It includes several very easy parts, but also a few difficult and moderately difficult sections. At the moment, the use of the trail is free of charge.
