For pure skiing fun, the Passeiertal Valley offers no fewer than two ski resorts – both with a wide range of slopes, and both with excellent ratings. Pfelders/ Plan and Ratschings-Jaufen/ Racines-Giovo are popular with beginners and professionals alike, offering guaranteed snow, perfectly groomed slopes and fantastic scenery. Pfelders is a “soft mobility” mountain village and ski resort in one. Offering 18km of slopes and numerous cosy mountain huts, it appeals mainly to families and those who ski for pleasure. Top athletes such as Ted Ligety and Felix Neureuther regularly train in the Pfelders ski resort. Here, at 1600m to 2500m above sea level, snow is guaranteed until late in spring.
