Besides beautiful walks and excellent sports and recreational facilities, the Val Passiria Valley has numerous places of interest to visit. Those who are interested in history can immerse themselves in mediaeval times as they stroll through the venerable old walls of Jaufenburg Castle, or find out more about the national hero Andreas Hofer in MuseumPasseier in Sandwirt Inn. The Bunker Mooseum in Moso features special exhibitions of the nature and history in the Val Passiria Valley, whilst the Pass Museum on Passo Rombo explains the origins of the legendary high Alpine road, and brings the cross-border character of the “Passo Rombo Experience” to life. Also well worth a visit is the Schneeberg Mining Museum, which offers glimpses into the former mining colony, 2500m above sea level.
