Description:
A wide variety of vegetables are grown sustainably at the Spitalerhof. The steep field on the southern slope is worked by hand, the vegetable plants are grown from organic seeds and cultivated without the use of any chemicals. Availability and quantities vary depending on weather conditions. Diversity is provided by old and non-market-typical varieties.

The little Oswald church under the Ifinger mountain

Between the peaks of Ifinger and Plattinger, at the foot of the Oswaldscharte (gap of S. Oswald), an inconspicuous church with a small tower stands at 1,185 m above sea level on a small flat alpine pasture. The building, which interestingly does not have any hiking trail leading directly past or to it, nevertheless experiences great crowds once a year. Every year on 5 August, the inhabitants of the communities of Hafling and Schenna make a pilgrimage to that small church Meran 2000 to ask Saint Oswald (in Hafling "Oaswold") for protection from storms.

Sacred Heart Fires in South Tyrol

Mountain bonfires: born of faith, carried on by tradition. If you look at the South Tyrolean mountains after dark on the Sunday after Corpus Christi or the third Sunday after Pentecost, you can see them clearly: Christian symbols such as hearts, crosses or the letters IHS, formed from a multitude of individual fires.
