On your mark, get set, go! In the surroundings of Lana there are three ski areas – the quaint Vigiljoch, the Merano 2000 recreational ski area and the varied ski area of Schwemmalm. All three ski areas are perfect for a winter holiday with children. The combination of mild temperatures in the valley and guaranteed snow on the slopes, together with a wide range of activities for children, make Lana and its surroundings an ideal destination for skiing with children in Merano and Environs.
Vigiljoch, Merano 2000 and Schwemmalm
The Vigiljoch offers a vacation as it was in the past – car-free and only accessible by cable car. There are hardly any waiting times at the ski lifts, in the ski huts you can make yourself comfortable and the long, winding toboggan run is popular not only with children. Merano 2000 is located near the spa town of Merano/Meran, just a few minutes away by cable car, bus or car. Luckis Kinderland, the outdoor play park with its magic carpet and practice area, awaits younger visitors right at the mountain station. This is also true of the Schwemmy Kinderland in the Schwemmalm ski area in Ultental Valley. Both ski areas offer professional ski kindergartens and ski schools for children. While parents enjoy the local lifestyle and cuisine on the sun terraces of the ski huts, in both the Kinderlands children can playfully learn how to handle snow and skis.
South Tyrolean specialties and warm South Tyrolean hospitality await guests in the numerous ski huts of the ski areas in Lana and the surrounding area. If the outside temperatures do not allow you to sit outside on deck chairs along the sun terraces, the entire family can also find a place in a cozy wooden parlor, where a traditional tiled stove warms guests and little skiers.
