LanaLive - Artist talk: Marc Alexandre Dumoulin

Marc-Alexandre Dumoulin is Villa Arnica's resident artist for 2024. With his painting he is constantly searching for the incomprehensible, and the surface of the canvas is for him a kind of building site where, as he digs deeper and deeper, the image emerges. Dumoulin's paintings, drawings and etchings are thoughts that reveal their complexity through the sensual connection of colours, themes and formats.
Dumoulin studied painting at Canada's Concordia University in Montreal and at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London. He holds a doctorate from the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where he lives and works.
The artist will be interviewed by Hannes Egger.
