Directed to the mountain church of S. Vigilius, the faith trail consists of six stations where we can meditate on the values and issues of life. The faith trail is the bearer of a universal message and is an invitation to discover and strenghten our faith. We travel the paths of our lives searching and believing. May this trail sustain us in this journey of discovery and of belief. P. Peter Unterhofer.
1. Station – Openness
Look into the distance, observe what is close to you, and through nature’s window contemplate the greatness and love of God!
The terrace is like stepping into a landscape painting. Your gaze opens to the vastness beyond. Looking through the telescope narrows the focus and reveals details more clearly. Faith is openness to another reality, one that is deeper and greater. May we never lose sight of what is near, the value found in small things and in what often goes unnoticed, and may we recognize in them a trace of God’s love.
2. Station – Freedom
Two loungers invite you to linger in this open space in the forest and, by looking up into the sky, experience the feeling of freedom. Freedom implies individuality. Defining it means limiting it. Like a bird, we can let our thoughts and feelings take flight. Christian faith is faith in the God of liberation. The power of faith can grant us inner freedom.
3. Station – Decision
Walk the path that is meant for you and leave your footprints behind!
Our thoughts and actions are shaped by decisions every day. They turn our steps into a unique personal journey. Sometimes our footprints resemble a question mark, sometimes an exclamation mark. Pause, rest, regain your strength, and sense the moment when it is time to move on. Whether your steps are confident and determined or hesitant and gentle, faith offers God’s promise: I am with you!
4. Station – Life
All life is movement. The lake’s water becomes a bubbling spring when we set it in motion, symbolizing this dynamic force. Life always requires energy. It is our responsibility to shape it in diverse ways, remain flexible, and continually overcome stagnation. Faith transforms our efforts into fulfilled life and completes what is imperfect. May the joy of understanding and experiencing life as constant change accompany us on our journey.
5. Station – Boundaries
Boundary stones, walls, fences, prejudices – there are many ways to mark limits and distinguish between here and there, between me and you. May this become a place of dreams, hopes, and utopian visions. Everyone is invited to dare to think beyond boundaries and carry those limitless thoughts along their journey through life.
6. Station – Security
Security and love go hand in hand. A sense of security is always reflected in a “you”. Before God, we can be ourselves with our whole lives, exactly as we are. In being sheltered and in offering shelter to others, the divine comes alive within us. In moments of deepest security and trust, heaven opens.
