High above the village of Naturns stands the Unterstell viewing platform on the Sonnenberg mountain of Naturns, built in 2015, which, with its striking shape, draws all eyes from the village center. With a length of 30 meters, the platform extends impressively into space and offers visitors a unique panorama of Naturns, the Vinschgau Valley, and the surrounding mountains. The viewing platform combines modern architecture with the stunning natural landscape of the Sonnenberg mountain, inviting visitors to pause, marvel, and discover new perspectives.

The Unterstell viewing platform is easily accessible in several ways, depending on your time, energy, and preference. The most comfortable option is to take the Unterstell cable car from Naturns, which reaches an altitude of around 1,300 meters in just a few minutes. From the mountain station, it’s only about a 10-minute walk to the platform.

Those who prefer to go on foot can start directly from Naturns village centre and follow Trail No. 10 in direction to Unterstell, which leads steadily up to the platform. Hikers on the Merano High Mountain Trail (Trail No. 24) can also take a short detour to visit this special viewpoint.
