On the sunny slopes of the Alps the natural raw materials are found for high quality products. In the Val Passiria/Passeiertal Valley, along with local milk, cheese and wine, there are also the Martinerhof and Brückenwirt breweries, the apple cider cellar at the Torgglerhof farm, the Wezl private distillery in Rifiano/Riffian and the Psairer Bio-Käserei organic dairy.
Fruity marmalades can be bought in the Schmiedhof farm. In Plata/Platt, wool products are found at the Spinnradl shop and the Psairer Online-Shop. Fragrant little hay bags is made by the Kooperative Südtiroler Bergwiesenheu [South Tyrolean mountain meadow hay cooperative]; the best Schüttelbrot crispbread is made by Kobler. Hard bread, spicy bacon and a glass of wine are part of the lifestyle of the Passeiertal Valley and are the main ingredients for the typical South Tyrolean afternoon snack of cold cuts, the Marende.
