Environmentally Responsible Tourism in the Passeiertal Valley
Environmentally Responsible Tourism in the Passeiertal Valley
The Passeiertal Valley Tourist Association has partnered with the “South Tyrol Sustainable Tourism Program”.
The South Tyrol Sustainable Tourism Program represents a significant milestone in reorienting tourist destinations towards resource conservation, to ensure a long-term future. By working together in a coordinated and concerted manner, together we will gradually be able counteract climate change and protect our natural habitats.
The Sustainable Tourism Program in South Tyrol shares the same priorities as that of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), a global leader in the development and implementation of sustainable travel and tourism standards.
By adopting these criteria, our aim is to assess the current status of local tourism in the various fields of sustainability (management, social-economy, ecology, culture) and to develop sustainable long-term strategies applicable to regional holiday destinations.
