Hike to Lazins Alm Alp in Pfelders

Lazins Alm Alp at the head of Pfelderer Tal valley is a popular and easily accessible hiking destination surrounded by an unspoilt mountain landscape.

Directions

You start your hike at the car park at the entrance to Pfelders (1,622 m) and follow the small, traffic-calmed access road into the village. In the centre of the village, turn left and follow a narrow, uphill asphalt road. Here, turn right and follow trail no. 8 towards Lazins Alm Alp.

The trail leads to the end of the village, where the asphalt road ends and a wide, well-maintained forest track with a firm gravel surface begins. It climbs gently, alternating between moderately steep and flatter sections.

Eventually, you reach Lazins inn (1,782 m). Continue along forest track no. 8, which from here also forms part of the Merano High Mountain Trail, following the Pfelderer Bach stream until you reach the wide, green pastures of Lazins Alm Alp. Cross the bridge and follow the final, slightly steeper uphill section to Lazins Alm Alp at 1,882 m.

The return journey follows the same route.

The trail is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.

Recommended equipment

War sturdy hiking boots, appropriate clothing for the weather and bring sufficient water and provisions.

• Coming from Meran towards the Passeiertal Valley, take the Jaufenstraße SS44 to St. Leonhard, continue towards Moos, take on the Timmelsjochstraße and continue on the SP114 to Pfelders

• Coming from the Timmelsjoch, take on the Timmelsjochstraße to Moos and continue on the SP114 to Pfelders

• Coming from the Jaufenpass towards St. Leonhard, take the Jaufenstraße SS44, continue towards Moos on the Timmelsjochstraße and continue on the SP114 to Pfelders
