Südtirol Gardenissima: World's longest Giant Slalom
The Südtirol Gardenissima is a prestigious alpine skiing race held annually in Val Gardena. It is known as the longest giant slalom in the world, with an impressive 6-kilometer track that runs from the summit of Seceda to the base station of Col Raiser.
The Südtirol Gardenissima attracts participants of various skill levels, allowing all ski enthusiasts to experience the uniqueness of this race. Every year, 700 participants from different countries around the world take part, emphasizing the popularity and significance of this event in the international skiing calendar.
The 28th edition of the Südtirol Gardenissima will take place on March 28 and, as always, will bring together some of the best Italian and international athletes, along with well-known personalities from the skiing world.
Approach
The easiest way to get to Val Gardena is via the Brennero/Brenner Motorway (A 22).
Travelling from the north from Innsbruck and the Brennero Pass or from the south via Verona and Bolzano, exit at Chiusa/Klausen and follow the signs for Val Gardena. The onward drive to Ortisei/St. Ulrich takes around 20 minutes, from where Santa Cristina is just only a few kilometres further. Turn left at the end of the village and continue for 300 metres to the lower terminal of the Col Riser. Parking available.
