The magical park of lights event in the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle

In der malerischen Kulisse von Schloss Trauttmansdorff in Meran erwartet die Besucher:innen diesen Winter eine neue, zauberhafte Attraktion: Der LUMAGICA Lichterpark, Südtirols erster und einziger Park dieser Art, öffnet am 21. November 2024 seine Pforten und lädt zu einer märchenhaften Entdeckungsreise für die ganze Familie durch die winterlichen Gärten ein. LUMAGICA geht über das Konzept einer Lichtinstallation hinaus – der Lichterpark ist eine Hommage an die Schönheit der Natur und die Vielfalt des Lebens. Jede der handgefertigten Lichtinstallationen ist mit Sorgfalt gestaltet und fängt die einzigartigen Themen und Stimmungen des Gartens ein. Die Ausstellung kann bis 6. Januar 2025 bewundert werden.

The little Oswald church under the Ifinger mountain
Between the peaks of Ifinger and Plattinger, at the foot of the Oswaldscharte (gap of S. Oswald), an inconspicuous church with a small tower stands at 1,185 m above sea level on a small flat alpine pasture. The building, which interestingly does not have any hiking trail leading directly past or to it, nevertheless experiences great crowds once a year. Every year on 5 August, the inhabitants of the communities of Hafling and Schenna make a pilgrimage to that small church Meran 2000 to ask Saint Oswald (in Hafling "Oaswold") for protection from storms.

Fantastic views
On a saddle below the Ifinger, 1,250 m above sea level, a small church looks far down into the Meran valley basin. It is not only the people of Hafling who have grown fond of the little St. Kathrein church with its dreamlike view for centuries. Over the years, its unparalleled setting has become the favourite place of many nature lovers, strength seekers and brides and grooms.
