Congratulations to Hotel & Gasthof Zum Hirschen in Jenesien

We are delighted to congratulate Hotel and Gasthof Zum Hirschen on successfully achieving the GSTC certification as well as the South Tyrol Sustainability Label Level 3.

Sustainability has been a core value in this traditional family-run business for generations. The inn has been managed by the same family for five generations, with a strong focus on regionality, circular economy, and a lived responsibility towards nature and people.
The kitchen consistently relies on seasonal products from regional agriculture, partly complemented by farm-produced goods. This synergy between agriculture and gastronomy makes the establishment a flagship example of sustainable tourism on the Tschögglberg plateau.
The internationally recognized GSTC certification confirms this commitment at the highest level. Combined with the South Tyrol Sustainability Label Level 3, it highlights a holistic approach that goes far beyond individual measures.
We are very pleased about this important milestone and thank them for their valuable contribution to a sustainable living environment on the Tschögglberg.

The little Oswald church under the Ifinger mountain
Between the peaks of Ifinger and Plattinger, at the foot of the Oswaldscharte (gap of S. Oswald), an inconspicuous church with a small tower stands at 1,185 m above sea level on a small flat alpine pasture. The building, which interestingly does not have any hiking trail leading directly past or to it, nevertheless experiences great crowds once a year. Every year on 5 August, the inhabitants of the communities of Hafling and Schenna make a pilgrimage to that small church Meran 2000 to ask Saint Oswald (in Hafling "Oaswold") for protection from storms.
