Texelgruppe Nature Park, the Sarntal and Stubaital Alps, the Passeiertal Valley is a veritable hiking paradise for enthusiasts. Hiking on the mountain trails is fascinating at any time of the year. On a sunny winter’s day, the glittering pristine white winter landscapes stretch out as far as the eye can see. On arrival at a mountain hut or some solitary peak, the time and effort getting there is more than rewarded by the breath-taking views and pure mountain air.
From November to March there is snowshoe hiking on the numerous Passeiertal Valley trails, which run across unspoilt terrain in Walten/ Valtina, under the winter sun in Stuls/ Stulles or through the picturesque village of Pfelders/ Plan in the Passeier Valley below Lazins. The sound of the snow crunching under your boots helps to free the mind, leaving your daily worries far behind. Snowshoe hikes around Pfelders and Walten
are of medium difficulty, such as the climb up to the Faltschnal Alm or Wanser Alm mountain pastures.
Local conditions permit solo hiking as well as organized tours with experienced
mountain guides. The Passeiertal Valley Tourist Association caters for organized snowshoe hiking trips, such as to the pristine Lazinsertal Valley beneath the imposing 3,000-meter summits. There are also night-time guided tours and at dawn, ideal for experiencing the mountain in special moments. The on-site ski rental services offer all the necessary snowshoeing gear for the fullest enjoyment of the stunning Passeiertal Valley.
