This Sunday, it’s that time again: on Sacred Heart Sunday – or as we call it, "Herz-Jesu" Sunday – the mountains across South Tyrol are lit up in a very special glow. 🔥 Since the 18th century, fires have been lit on peaks and slopes on the third Sunday after Pentecost, creating glowing signals in the night. The tradition dates back to the Napoleonic wars, when Tyrol was symbolically entrusted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus for protection.

To this day, it remains a powerful expression of community, faith, and unity.
