The Parade of Cow's Tail
On Shrove Tuesday, the Meran butchers, accompanied by a cheering crowd, carried a guild member clinging to a perch adorned with cow tails through the town streets, finally throwing him into a fountain. The latter, soaking in the fountain, could then splash the bystanders with the wet cow tails or using various containers.
