The villages in the upper part of the valley – Alta Val Passiria or Hinterpasseier - include Moso/Moos, Stulles/Stuls, Plata/Platt, Corvara/Rabenstein and Plan/Pfelders. Richly diverse, picturesque and colourful, an incredible amount of biodiversity can be found in the flora and fauna of the mountain backdrop. Quaint farmsteads blend harmoniously with the alpine landscape, and walkers will be delighted with the dense woods, pure mountain air and thundering waterfalls. Stulles and Plata are both particularly blessed with sunshine and nature. Moso, the main village in the area, is home not only to numerous lovely cafés, but also to the unique Bunker Mooseum. The alpine village of Plan is currently the highest permanently inhabited village in the Val Passiria Valley, and is the only “soft mobility” ski resort in South Tyrol. Starting from Corvara, the panorama road leads straight up the Passo Giovo/Timmelsjoch. Five museums along the way form the so-called “Timmelsjoch Experience”.
