Mining traces - mining archaeology

The special guided tour with Claus-Stephan Holdermann is dedicated to the archaeological traces of mining at the Schneeberg

On site, historical mining structures and remains of everyday working life will be explained and placed in their historical context, with a focus on their significance for the study of mining history. 

The event will be in German and Italian.

Approach

Access is via the SS44 into the Passeiertal Valley to Moos and then continuing on the SS44bis towards the Timmelsjoch.
Starting points of the hike to the Refuge Schneeberg:
• Schneebergbrücke bridge
• Platterköfel
• Timmelsbrücke bridge
Parking is available directly at the respective starting points.

To bring along

We recommend hiking gear and a waterproof jacket.

Alpine terrain, easy hike from the mountain refuge.
