Tue Greenfort
Danish artist Tue Greenfort (Holbæk, 1973) studied at the Funen Art Academy in Odense and at the Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste–Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main. He lives in Denmark and Germany. In his artistic practice, he explores the ecological dynamics governing the interaction between man and his environment, critically reinterpreting them through his art. Whilst participating in the 2007 Skulptur Projekte exhibition in Münster, for example, he used a fuel truck to dump a solution into the Aasee to lower that lake’s phosphate level. In 2012, on the occasion of the documenta 13 art exhibition in Kassel, he created an archive of the writings of Californian philosopher Donna Haraway on the topic of multi-species coevolution.
Listen to Nature consists of five erratic blocks that Greenfort positioned along the Mitterplattweg promenade running from Schenna/Scena to Meran/Merano (for example, near the source of Schnuggenbach stream). The differently shaped rocks can be used as seating places or as small viewing platforms. The artist thus created places that enhance the perception of the landscape’s natural and cultural features, in locations where no one normally lingers.
